Alice in Wonderland by L'Arietta Singapore

I am so proud to be part of the team of Alice in Wonderland by L'arietta Production in Singapore. 2018 March 29-April 1st, Aliwal Arts Centre

The 75 minute operatic adaptation welcomed you to a magical garden, filled with nostalgic toys and modern twists. And a spectacle for the whole family because kids and kids at heart can enjoy a carnival as well as the opera!

L’arietta Productions, the local chamber opera company that brought you Purgatory for Halloween takes a colourful turn for Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice in Wonderland in the second half of “Season of Literary Works”. Composed by Robert Chauls and premiered in 1978, it was the second most performed American opera in the United States during the 1981-82 season. L’arietta will give this beloved opera its Southeast Asian Premiere.

Celebrate the child in us all with your loved ones, and be surprised by how fun an opera can be! The show features opera veterans Akiko Otao, Leslie Tay, Brent Allcock, as well as fresh faces to the Singapore opera scene. The production welcomes collaborations with award-winning video artist Pandora Wong. I had the chance to colaborate directly with Namiko Takahashi Chan as she reveals an entire line of hand-painted costumes.
